William provides an in-depth look at his artist process, from inspiration, conception, layout of composition, color choices, completion and finished from inside his studio. This movie is a look at how a painting from the book Old Penn Station (Henry Holt & Co. 2007) was completed.
The following videos not only have William speaking, but also demonstrations about his digital technique. His canvas painting technique is almost identical, but he uses a brush and wet paints instead of a stylus and a monitor. William’s basic picture making construction/compositions are the same no matter which media he is working in.
Most of his painting training took place at the New York City High School of Art and Design. He also studied at Parsons School of Design and Syracuse University.
